Van Jones on Labor and LGBT Movements

Posted: June 21st, 2011 | Author: | 2 Comments »

Environmental activist and ex-Obama cabinet member Van Jones just came out with a video with Colage that highlights some of the similarities between the labor movement and the LGBT movement, such as that they both start with L. (He doesn’t actually bring that up in the video—but luckily, I brought it up just now!)

“We need to make sure we have jobs for everybody, opportunity for everybody, fairness for everybody,” Jones says. “Let’s bring these fights together.”

Colage posted the video under the title “Van Jones: We’re In This Together.” To get further amped about being in something together, you can also sing along to the karaoke version of “We’re All In This Together,” from High School Musical.

Hi! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous room mate! He always kept chatting about this. I will forward this write-up to him. Fairly certain he will have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!
